FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is INTAMSYS PEI 1010?

PEI 1010 (also known as ULTEM 1010) is a high-performance thermoplastic with excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and mechanical strength, widely used in aerospace, automotive, and medical industries.

How is INTAMSYS PEI 1010 different from PEI 9085?

PEI 1010 has a higher glass transition temperature (~217 °C) and better heat resistance, while PEI 9085 is more widely certified for aerospace (FST compliance).

What are typical applications of INTAMSYS PEI 1010?

It’s used for aerospace and automotive components, medical devices (thanks to sterilization resistance), and industrial tooling or fixtures.

What equipment is needed to print INTAMSYS PEI 1010?

It requires a high-temp 3D printer with:

  • Extruder up to 400 °C
  • Heated bed around 160 °C
  • Heated chamber ~90–120 °C
  • Proper filament drying before printing

Is INTAMSYS PEI 1010 biocompatible and sterilizable?

Yes. PEI 1010 is biocompatible (ISO 10993, USP Class VI) and supports sterilization methods like steam autoclaving, gamma irradiation, and EtO gas, making it suitable for healthcare applications.
