Formlabs | Durable Resin

$149.00

Durable Resin is a pliable, impact-resistant material designed for squeezable parts and low-friction assemblies. Printed parts are tough, smooth, and resistant to wear, with strength and stiffness comparable to polyethylene (PE) and a coefficient of friction similar to Delrin® (POM).

Use Durable Resin for squeezable prototypes, low-friction assemblies, and jigs or fixtures that must withstand repeated impacts.

frequently asked questions

What is Durable Resin best used for?

Durable Resin is designed for parts requiring high impact resistance, significant deformation (flex) before breaking, low friction surfaces, and stiffness similar to polyethylene (PE).

What post-processing is required for Durable Resin?

After printing with Durable Resin, parts must be washed (recommended ≤ 20 minutes in IPA) and then post-cured for 60 minutes at 60 °C (for most Formlabs printers) to achieve optimal mechanical properties.

What are the key mechanical properties for Durable Resin?

Durable Resin has typical properties such as about 28 MPa ultimate tensile strength, 1 GPa tensile modulus, elongation ~55%, and notched Izod impact strength ~114 J/m in published data.

Is Durable Resin suitable for high-temperature or load-bearing applications?

It is not ideal for elevated temperature (heat-deflection ~41 °C) or long-term constant load/creep applications; parts under sustained high load may be better suited to stiffer engineering resins.

What are typical limitations or things to beware of when printing with Durable Resin?

Users should note: very fine features or thin walls may not perform as well (due to its low modulus and high elongation behavior), and part geometry/orientation matter for avoiding creep or deformation under load. Also ensure correct resin tank compatibility.
