Formlabs | Tough 1000 Resin

$149.00

Tough 1000 Resin is a durable, impact-resistant material with strength, stiffness, and toughness comparable to HDPE. It offers exceptional wear and fatigue resistance for long-term use.

With 180% elongation at break and 128 in-lb Gardner impact strength, it outperforms HDPE—perfect for parts that flex or deform without cracking. Its matte dark gray finish provides smooth, low-friction surfaces.

Optimized for the Form 4 Series, Tough 1000 Resin delivers 5× higher fracture toughness and 2× greater elongation than Durable Resin, along with improved temperature and aging resistance.

IMPORTANT: 5 L Container Requires a Resin Pump (Form 4).

Tough 1000 by Formlabs

Experience the Benefits

Low-Friction Performance

Delrin-like lubricity enables smooth motion in hinges, gears, and moving assemblies without abrasion.

Durable & Ductile

With 180% elongation at break and 128 in-lb impact strength, surpasses HDPE for tough, high-impact enclosures and components.

High Fatigue Strength

Handles repeated stress with 3,200 J/m² fracture work and >100,000 cycle flex life—ideal for jigs, fixtures, and functional parts.

Stable for End-Use

Enhanced temperature, creep, and aging resistance prevent warping and deformation over time.

frequently asked questions

What makes Tough 1000 Resin different from other resins?

Tough 1000 Resin offers ductility and impact resistance comparable to HDPE, with elevated wear- and fatigue-resistance for long-term durability.

Which applications is Tough 1000 Resin best suited for?

It’s ideal for parts that bend, compress or deform without cracking (e.g., enclosures, flexures, compliant mechanisms), jigs & fixtures that undergo repeated stress, and low-friction moving assemblies like hinges and gears.

What are the key mechanical properties of Tough 1000 Resin?

Tough 1000 Resin has ~180% elongation at break, a Gardner impact strength of ~128 in-lb, a work of fracture around 3,200 J/m² and Ross flex fatigue life over 100,000 cycles (at 23 °C).

Which printers and settings are supported for Tough 1000 Resin?

The material is formulated for the Form 4 Series printers. (Print settings for some larger models may still be pending—check the settings roadmap.)

What post-processing is required for Tough 1000 Resin?

After printing, parts should be washed (e.g., alcohol/ether) and then post-cured (e.g., 12 minutes at 70 °C) to achieve full material properties.
