Step into the future of ceramic engineering with the world’s most accessible ceramic 3D printing ecosystem. Harness 3D printing to produce advanced ceramic components without costly tooling—cutting lead times and expenses while unlocking greater design freedom.

Alumina 4N is a Form X material built for expert users, offering a high-density, high-purity technical ceramic. It delivers exceptional performance in extreme environments—thermally resistant, mechanically strong, chemically inert, hard, and abrasion-resistant.

Alumina 4N Resin has a shelf life of 3 months at room temperature, which can be extended by up to 12 additional months when refrigerated (-10–4 °C). Refrigeration is strongly recommended.

Please read the Alumina 4N Quick Start Guide before proceeding. If this is your first time using a Formlabs 3D printer, we strongly recommend using a general purpose resin, such as Clear Resin, before printing with Alumina 4N resin.

frequently asked questions

What is Alumina 4N Resin used for?

It’s designed for producing high-purity alumina ceramic parts for demanding industrial, scientific, and high-temperature applications.

What printers are compatible with Alumina 4N Resin?

Alumina 4N Resin is compatible with the Form 4 and Form 4B SLA 3D printers.

How strong and heat-resistant is Alumina 4N Resin?

After sintering, parts withstand temperatures up to 1500 °C and offer high strength (~400 MPa flexural) and stiffness (~380 GPa modulus).

What post-processing is required for Alumina 4N Resin?

Printed parts must be washed, debound, and sintered to achieve full ceramic density and performance.

Can Alumina 4N Resin replace metal parts?

Yes, for some applications. Its high hardness, wear resistance, and chemical stability make it suitable where metals would corrode or deform.
