Formlabs | Form Wash L (2nd Generation)

Starting at

$4,500.00

All SLA 3D printed parts need to be washed to remove excess resin. The Form Wash L automates this step, delivering consistently smooth, clean, and high-quality results.

After the wash cycle, parts are automatically lifted out of the solvent to air dry, preventing over-soaking and reducing the risk of warped prints. A built-in solvent monitor ensures optimal cleaning performance by alerting you when it’s time for a solvent change.

Form Wash L is compatible with all Formlabs SLA 3D printers. With the included build platform adapter, you can wash one Form 3L build platform or two Form 3 build platforms at the same time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What solvents are compatible with the Form Wash L (2nd Generation)?

You can use Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and Tripropylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether (TPM) among other supported solvents. Always check the solvent’s safety data sheet and ensure it’s suitable for SLA resin cleaning.

How do I know when to replace the solvent for the Form Wash L?

The Form Wash L has a built-in solvent monitor plus a cycle counter. These let the machine notify you when the resin concentration in the solvent has risen too high (which reduces cleaning efficacy). You can also manually check using a hydrometer (for IPA) to see if the solvent is no longer doing a clean job (e.g. parts come out sticky or not fully clean).

What is the maximum size of parts that can be washed in the Form Wash L (2nd Gen)?

The washing volume is large. It supports washing one Form 4L build platform or two Form 3 (or Form 4) build platforms using the included adjustable build platform adapter. For individual part dimensions, the wash bucket can accommodate sizes up to around 33.5 × 20 × 30 cm (depending on orientation and platform height).

How should I set up my workspace for safe and optimal use of the Form Wash L?

  • Operate the Form Wash L in a well-ventilated room, temperature between 18-28 °C (64-82 °F).
  • Ensure you have enough space for easy access: minimum clearances and a stable, level surface.
  • Use proper PPE (gloves, eye protection) because resin and solvent are hazardous.

Does the Form Wash L (2nd Gen) automatically dry the parts after washing?

Yes. Once the wash cycle finishes, the platform or basket automatically lifts out of the solvent, allowing parts to drip dry. This feature reduces the risk of over-soaking, helps avoid warping, and minimizes mess in your workspace.
